"Insider's View" Colombia 2010 12-days: August 18 - August 29

Day 1- August 18 --- Evening arrival Bogota - Van transfer to Hotel Suites Real (Isis' cousin's hotel). Check in, unpack & rest.

Day 2- August 19--- Typical Colombian breakfast at hotel. Take a van to tour La Candelaria, walk around one of the most beautiful historic areas of Bogota. Visit the famous peak of Monserratte (a favorite with Bogoteños and tourists who go there for the spectacular views), walk around and explore, have lunch. Return to Hotel. Relax. Group Dinner (1) and Dancing.

Day 3.- August 20 --- Breakfast at Hotel .Van transport to the astonishing salt mines of Salinas de Zipaquira. Lunch. Explore Zipaquira and the impressive underground "salt cathedral. Return to Bogota. Relax. Group Dinner (2). After dinner take a beautiful evening tour of Bogota on the fun and exciting Chivas bus.

Day 4- August 21 --- Early breakfast. Van trip to Villa de Leiva - one of the finest colonial villages in Colombia. Explore this charming town of white washed houses and cobbled streets & courtyards. Lunch. Return to Bogota via Tunja (another small town well worth the visit). Group Dinner (3) in Bogota.

Day 5- August 22--- Breakfast early. Depart for Armenia and the coffee country. Van transport to the airport for a plane trip to Armenia. Arrive early. Van takes us to Casa del Delirio (a stunning and incredibly peaceful guest hotel with an outdoor pool). Check in. Relax. Coffee Finca (farm) tour of Isis's cousin's finca. Learn first hand the process and work picking coffee. Lunch at finca. Back to Delirio.. Relax and swim. Group Dinner (4) Delirio.

Day 6.- August 23 --- Breakfast. Van takes us to the Parque Nacional del Café. Explore the exciting park. Next, visit the quaint little town of Salento which is a great place for shopping and an exquisite place to eat. Group Dinner (5) in Salento.

Day 7 -August 24 --- Breakfast at finca. Van takes us to Balsaje por Rio (be ready to get wet on this wonderful tour down the river in a large bamboo raft). Swim in river. Hike to waterfalls, have lunch. Return to Delirio. Relax.. Group Dinner (6).

Day 8- August 25 --- Breakfast--- Van takes us to airport. Take plane from Bogota to Las Islas de San Andres - a peaceful and little known Caribbean paradise island . Check in. Explore. Group Dinner (7).

Day 9 -August 26 --- Breakfast. Explore the island and its caves. Hike & swim. Take tour of Island. Relax.. Spa treatment (optional). Group Dinner (8).

Day 10 - August 27 --- Breakfast. Explore the Island of Providencia. A quiet & relaxing island with stunning beaches. Take the boat tour. Diving tours available. Dinner.

Day 11 -August 28 --- Check out of hotel. Van transport to airport for flight back to Bogota. Check in Suites Real. Dinner (last night)

Day 12 - August 29 --- Up early . Check out. Be at Airport by early am. Van transport to airport. Return flight to USA.

The Total Cost for the trip is $3500 (we have a monthly payment plan) which includes airfares, hotels (based on double occupancy), van fares, all breakfasts, 8 dinners, tours, & museums. Not Included are: all drinks with meals, lunches, tips for drivers, guides, tips at all meals, & entrance and exit taxes.
